FREE AND CLARIFIED CONSENT TERM

You are invited to participate as a volunteer in a research study, titled: INVESTIGATION OF ANOMALALOUS EXPERIENCES: UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRITUAL MIND IN THE 21st CENTURY.

This study will examine the spiritual experiences of people who live in Brazil and the USA. We are interested in cases in which the following types of experiences occur:  Extrasensory Perception; telepathy (direct mind to mind communication); clairvoyance (knowledge of distant events or situations); precognition (knowledge of the future), psychokinesis (action of mind on matter); mediumship (reports of contacts with disincarnated consciousness / spirits or spiritual beings). We are also interested in powerful spiritual experiences of awe, mystery, wonder, and fascination, leading to the sense that one is in touch with the sacred or the holy.

We would like to obtain a panoramic view of a range of types of spiritual experiences in the 21st century, and discover their frequency in the population. We also seek to understand how Carl Gustav Jung's analytical psychology can assist people in understanding these experiences.

This research will be carried out by asking people to answer some simple questions available on our website. When deciding to participate in the study, please click on ACCEPT on the main page to access the questions in a semi-structured questionnaire. When you finish filling out the questionnaire do not forget to SEND your data. Researchers would sometimes like to be able to contact you to obtain more information about your report, so please provide your contact details if you are willing to allow this. The risks involved in the research are minimal, no greater than ordinary routine activities. The research will provide a consistent database for future research in Brazil and North America.

To participate in this study, there will be no cost or financial benefit to you. You will be informed about any aspect of the study you wish to know more about, and you are free to participate or refuse to participate. You may withdraw your consent or discontinue participation at any time. Your participation is entirely voluntary and the refusal to participate will not entail any penalty or modification in the way in which you are treated by the researchers, who will treat your identity with professional standards of confidentiality, in compliance with Brazilian law (Resolution No. 466/12 of the National Health Council), using the information only for academic and scientific purposes.
The research results will be available to you when completed. Your name or material indicating your participation will not be released without your permission. You will not be identified in any publication that may result from this study. The data and instruments used in the research will be filed with the researchers responsible for a period of 5 (five) years, after which they will be destroyed.
